Everyone in Burlington should live, learn, and work in a healthy and thriving environment.

Healthy & Affordable Homes

Housing should be affordable and well maintained. Too many people who want to stay in Burlington are being priced out, while some renters are living in properties that are not adequately maintained. I believe affordability, availability, and housing quality all matter.

    • Encourage expansion of housing options such as duplexes and smaller homes.

    • Strengthen rental-property inspection and code enforcement.

    • Support tools such as the Housing Trust Fund.

    • Work towards property tax relief for those who need it most.

Community Health & Safety

Everyone deserves to be safe and well. We must invest in preventative efforts while advocating for resources and policies that address the root causes of substance use and mental health. Proactive, community-centered safety approaches should treats people fairly and protects civil rights.

    • Consider community health evidence-based strategies such as an Overdose Prevention Center.

    • Strengthen Burlington’s commitment to fair and impartial policing.

    • Limit unnecessary cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.

Climate & Environmental Justice

Climate and environmental decisions shape how we live, travel, work, and use shared public spaces. I want Burlington to keep protecting Lake Champlain, our parks, and the natural spaces that are such an important part of life, while investing in transportation and infrastructure that make daily life healthier, safer, and more accessible.

    • Continue progress toward Burlington’s Net Zero Energy goal.

    • Incorporate environmental principles into the PlanBTV 2050

    • Protect the health and accessibility of Lake Champlain and city parks.

    • Make walking and cycling safer and more accessible.

Sustainable Local Economy

Our economy is shaped by our workforce, local businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations. For a sustainable economy, we must be rooted in community oriented success with partnerships across sectors and centering the needs of our residents.

    • Help Burlington develop, retain, and support a strong local workforce.

    • Support a vibrant downtown and waterfront for residents and visitors.

    • Encourage use of underutilized spaces.

Community Engagement

Everyone who is affected by city decisions should help shape the directions of our city efforts including those who have been historically marginalized in our community. I want to make it easier for everyone to participate, share their ideas, and have a meaningful role in Burlington’s future.

    • Expand nonpartisan voter education so residents understand their voting rights.

    • Create pathways for residents to serve on boards, commissions, and city council.

    • Remove barriers that have historically limited civic engagement and offer opportunities for community input across critical issues.
