Rent and Housing
Making housing in Burlington safer, more affordable, and easier to find.
-
Too many people who want to stay in Burlington are being priced out, while some renters are living in properties that are not adequately maintained. I believe affordability, availability, and housing quality all matter if we want people to be able to build stable lives here.
-
I want to expand and diversify Burlington’s housing options while also making sure existing rental housing is safe and properly maintained. I see affordability and housing quality as issues that need to be addressed together.
-
Expand housing options for renters and homeowners.
Support tools such as the Housing Trust Fund and appropriate zoning reforms.
Encourage housing types such as duplexes and smaller homes.
Strengthen rental-property inspection and code enforcement.
Help ensure working families and students have access to safe, healthy, affordable housing.

Community Health & Safety
Helping make Burlington safer, healthier, and welcoming for everyone.
-
Everyone who lives in or visits Burlington deserves to feel safe and welcome. I believe community safety is also connected to issues like substance use, discrimination, policing, and whether we address problems before they become larger crises.
-
I support a proactive, community-centered approach to safety that treats people fairly, protects civil rights, and uses evidence to address community needs. I also believe Burlington should be willing to consider innovative, data-driven responses to difficult public-health challenges.
-
Strengthen Burlington’s commitment to impartial policing.
Prevent profiling based on race, religion, or immigration status.
Limit unnecessary cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.
Support approaches that address problems before they escalate.
Consider evidence-based strategies such as an Overdose Prevention Center.
Promote safety policies that are fair, effective, and community-centered.
