Because Burlington should be affordable, welcoming, and fun for everyone.

Rent & Housing

Many people love Burlington, but too many are being forced to leave because housing is too expensive and rental properties are not always maintained. I will:

  • Leverage opportunities through the Housing Trust Fund and zoning reforms to re-imagine and diversify housing options such as duplexes and small homes for renters and homeowners

  • Put pressure to inspect and ensure rental properties are up to code because working families and students deserve healthy, affordable places to live

Community Health & Safety

Everyone who lives in or visits our city deserves to feel safe and welcome. I will take a proactive, community-centered approach to community safety and will:

  • Renew our commitment to the Impartial Policing Resolution to promote fair policing, limits cooperation with federal immigration enforcement and prevent profiling based on race, religion or immigration status

  • Encourage us to take community risks to implement innovative and data driven solutions such as the Overdose Prevention Center to address critical needs in our community

Climate & Environmental Justice

Environmental justice is central to how we live, work and learn in our city. I will:

  • Support our ongoing efforts of becoming a Net Zero Energy city and center these principles across decision-making including

  • Ensure the health and accessibility of Lake Champlain and city parks by continuing to advocate for effective stormwater and waste infrastructures

  • Support ongoing efforts towards an interconnected system across transit, cycling, and walking

Sustainable Local Economy

As Vermont’s economic hub, Burlington’s strength depends on an economy that is sustainable, inclusive, and rooted in our community. I will:

  • Work to sustain a vibrant downtown and waterfront that serve residents and visitors alike by encouraging partnerships between the city and employers to activate underutilized spaces and address community health and safety.

  • Promote strong partnerships among local schools and colleges, the social sector, and local businesses, recognizing the deeply interconnectedness to develop and retain a community workforce.

The most impactful and lasting community solutions come from diverse perspectives. As a city councilor, I will ground my decision-making in research, best practices, and my core values, with a strong emphasis on collaboration.
